NEW SKIN CARE TREND: SKIN CYCLING

The hashtag #skincycling, which has 14.2 million views on social media, has revealed a new skincare trend. Called “Skin Cycling,” this trend includes a four-night skincare plan that changes in the middle of using active ingredients and letting the skin rest. Thus, it basically helps you get more out of your night skin care routine by being strategic about how and when to use the products. The content of the four-night program consists of exfoliation, retinoid, beautification and beautification.

Whitney Bowe, a council-certified dermatologist in New York City, revealed this four-night skincare regimen and is educating TikTok and Instagram about it. Dr. Bowe, two nights applying all the benefits of using exfoliants and retinol; set out to create a strategic routine that prevents skin inflammation and irritation with two nights dedicated to beautifying the skin. With this procedure, you can make the most of the active ingredients in your skin care products while minimizing irritation by creating the needed smoothing nights.

Here is the Skin Cycling program in all its details…

NIGHT 1: EXFOLIATION
First comes the exfoliation night. As usual, clean your face first. After it dries, use an exfoliant, which is a chemical peeling product, not a physical face scrub. Follow this up with your favorite moisturizer and you’re ready.

Exfoliation not only clears the skin of dead cells, it can also beautify the skin texture and help other skin care ingredients to be effectively absorbed into the skin barrier. Whether chemical or physical, exfoliation is a valuable part of the skincare routine because it helps maintain a dewy glow; it can even open skin tone, texture and pores.

NIGHT 2: RETINOID
Begin the second night of the skin cycle by cleansing your face. Then apply a pea-sized amount of retinol to your skin. You can apply moisturizer beforehand to reduce the strength of sensitive areas such as under-eyes or smile lines. Then, cover your skin with a layer of moisturizer as the last step of your nighttime routine.

Retinol is one of the main forms of vitamin A. It can help stimulate the cell cycle and at the same time help stimulate collagen production. This means reduced appearance of fine lines, dark spots, dark circles and acne.

But remember: retinol requires tolerance on some part of your skin. Those who are new to using this active substance should apply it carefully. Applying more retinol to your skin at once will not give you faster results, it will only cause more irritation. Instead, you can start with a small measure to measure the reflection of your skin.

NIGHT 3: HEALING
AND
NIGHT 4: HEALING

As for the third and fourth nights, the last two nights of the skin cycle routine, it focuses entirely on moisturizing and repairing the skin. Start by washing with a gentle cleanser or even optional dual-phase cleaning. If you think your skin needs extra moisture, a hyaluronic acid serum will do the trick. Finally, your choice of moisturizer comes. An optional fourth step is to apply a facial oil to your skin to lock in moisture.

The result is a beautiful glowing skin!

What are the benefits of Skin Cycling?
This treatment allows you to reap the benefits of your exfoliants and retinoids without too much and without causing irritation. There are two sets of people who will benefit most from the volume cycle: those who are overwhelmed by all the works and not sure where to start, and those who already use extraordinary works but don’t get what they want from the results.

The rhythm in which you use products is valuable because too much of something so neat like strong acids and retinoids can actually be bad. One of the clear signs of overeating is a damaged skin barrier that causes the skin to be in a state of chronic, low-grade inflammation. This results in free radical damage and oxidative stress, accelerating the aging process, predisposing to sensitive skin and acne, and even worsening hyperpigmentation.

Every skin type can benefit from trying the skin cycle. You can make minor changes according to your skin type and purposes. For example, if you have sensitive or dry skin, you can use a lower grade of retinol or acid, or add a third night of conditioning to the rotation. Those with acne-prone skin may benefit from testing their skincare routine on a three-day cycle: exfoliation, retinoid, smoothing, repeating. It’s all about finding the real thing for you.

Knowing which ingredients will work best for you depends on your particular skin type. Because every person’s skin is uniquely different, you shouldn’t try new things without talking to your dermatologist.
