Well, from what age should teeth be brushed? How should children brush their teeth? Which foods should children avoid for dental health? Dentist Denizhan Uzunpınar gave information
It is recommended to clean with gauze for babies 6-8 months old.
Pediatric dentists recommend starting cleaning with gauze as soon as children’s first teeth erupt (6-8 months old). Since the spitting reflex does not develop in children aged between 2.5 and 4 years with milk teeth, it is beneficial to brush twice a day without paste. After the meal, the child’s teeth should be brushed or, if it is not possible to brush, the mouth should be rinsed with water and sugar-free or xylitol-containing gum should be chewed for 3 minutes.
How should the child’s nutrition be in terms of dental health?
In between meals, sugar, chocolate, sugary and soft foods that can stay on the teeth should especially be avoided. They can consume gum and candies that contain xylitol or are called tooth-friendly.
